It’s pretty clear to see where this classic medieval dagger got is name from! Also known as the Ballock Dagger or Kidney Dagger (you can thank the Victorians for that one!).
This dagger was popular both on and off the battlefield from the 13th to 18th century and a predecessor to the Scottish Dirk.
It was very popular during the Tudor period and a large number of Bollock Daggers were found on the wreck of the Mary Rose.
